8.0
The Legend of Zelda. A classic Nintendo game. I played this game extensively
when I was young, but I never actually beat it until I borrowed it from my
cousin (and still not given it back).
Gameplay
The Zelda legacy, unlike the Final Fantasy line, focuses more on gameplay than
on anything else. Miyamoto, Nintendo's resident genius, designed the game to
play so smooth. The control scheme is wonderful, and extremely tight.
Graphics
True, this is the original Nintendo, but these graphics, however good they are,
do not compare to later Nintendo stuff (say..TMNT 2). Therefore, the graphics,
while excellent at the time, were not a good indication of what the NES could
do.
Sounds
The classic Zelda music, remembered by all hard-core gamers. The sword sound
effect was always cool. But still, kind of repetitive music.
Storyline
Now, the storyline in the first Zelda was kind of simple: get the TriForce and
save Princess Zelda. Not real complicated.
Enjoyment
This game was fun to play. The action RPG that really started it all, the
Legend of Zelda was so fun to play because the control scheme was so great.
Miyamoto really did a great job.
The Bottom Line: A classic action RPG that was wonderful to play.
