MegaMan 3(NES)

Overall:
7.8
MegaMan 3, or RockMan 3 in Japan, was the followup to the immensely popular
MegaMan 2 game. MegaMan took the Blue Bomber to some mining colony gone out
of whack (at least that was supposed to be the story) because of Dr. Wily.
Gameplay
The MegaMan gameplay is very good. The placement of all the controls was
convenient and accessible. Equipping weapons and using items were a bit
confusing at first, but easy to learn.
Graphics
The graphics are pretty good, nice big enemies and good character sprites. They
are slightly better than MegaMan 2, but not by much. Backgrounds are detailed
and beautiful.
Sounds
The music in this game is pretty good. Dramatic-type music accompanies boss
encounters, and the stage music is atmospheric and very fitting to the game.
Storyline
The story is really secondary in this game. It's not a particularly memorable story,
but it's a serviceable story for this game. The Dr. Wily concept is still cool but
is showing it's age.
Enjoyment
The game is enjoyable. However, I found the game to be tedious at times, making
difficult jumps and the memorization of the password really turned me off. I
would get past one level and then I would copy down the complicated password wrong.
This pissed me off to no end.
The Bottom Line: A great MegaMan game that continued the success of the MegaMan series.
