Final Fantasy 1 (NES)
Gameplay: 8
Graphics: 8

Storyline: 6
Enjoyment: 10
Overall:
8.0
I first played this game in sixth grade, when I borrowed it from my friend. I
had played very few role-playing games (The Legend of Zelda really doesn't
count). This experience hooked me, and let me know how good role-playing
games could be.
Gameplay
Final Fantasy 1 used traditional turn-based fighting. However, unrevolutionary
it is, it was still a whole lot of fun. Magic was integrated well, and items
were really useful.
Graphics
Well, this was the original NES. Still, the low mark reflects the use of waaay
too many color swapped enemies in the game. However, fun it may be, another
"Imp" and then "grey Imp" really doesn't cut it for me. But the graphics
were pretty respectable for NES.
Sounds
Who can forget the "Prelude"? I believe Nobuo Uematsu did the music for
this game, and boy, is it good. The fight music was exciting, and even the
victory music is still used in the Final Fantasies.
Storyline
The game really didn't have any characters, as this game allowed the player
to choose names and be the characters. No character development or anything.
Really, only Garland is characterized well as a vengeful knight. Everyone else
is really one-dimensional.
The Bottom Line: This game is a classic, and any RPG lover should play it.
